Calling WFL KURT!!!!

Actually it was a place called Steves stereo and music here in Concord NH. The original owner sold it to the store. I can only imagine what they paid! I have done lots of business with the owner and he does'nt seem to know squat about vintage drums. If he only knew what those were worth!

Funny story was that a few months after I got the set I did an outdoor gig with them(covered of coarse!) and this older gentleman came up to me and asked me where I got the set. When I told him he said that he was the guy that traded them in. I joking said you don't want them back do you? He said no and that he was'nt really even a drummer. In college he used to tap on things all the time and his friends told him he needed a set. He liked the color and bought them in Virginia in 1969.(They are date stamped March 26th 1969) He never played them much and they sat in his basement for years. They do have a fair amount of fade which is ok by me. Too bad he did'nt cover them up though. Seemed like a nice guy that was glad they went to a good home. That was cool.

If the fading is uniform, and if it's just the reds and purples that has faded, vintage Mod Orange can still look really good.

Here's my uniformly faded '68's, with still-vibrant orange:
