Yeah, I was wondering what the reissue wrap looked like, too. Anyone got a sample?

Well, I can see a pretty noticeable difference there. I can see that the kit's wrap is older and cooler looking than is the reissue (My opinion, of course). But even though the kits wrap is original old wrap, it is also quite faded -as is often the case with old Mod Orange. I think you almost have to keep it is zero light to prevent the purple from fading out. It may chemically fade regardless. I have rarely seen old Mod Orange in "perfect" condition. But, it does look cool when you see it!

not to get too sidetracked, but...

Take a look at that reissued wrap. Notice how repetitive the figuring is in it? I hate that.

Personally, I think the Jammin Sams Mod Orange wrap looks better than the Ludwig re-issue. Here's a couple pics of Jerry's Blaemire kit wrapped in jammin Sam's Mod orange.

Now we are getting somewhere! Does anyone else think that Clubdate kit resembles the Jammin' Sam's style Mod Orange wrap? Could it be?

Sorry for the tardiness guys! I forgot school was in session. Honestly I think that set is the real deal. I think I saw it listed a long time ago before jammin sams had that wrap. Now I will say that I think the price is beyond rediculous! I had always hoped oneday to find a downbeat in those sizes and figured it would be between $4-5000 dollars. That is crazy for a club date.

The snare is definately the early 2000's reissue. Jammin smas looks incredible to me. I love it! I was seriously thinking about gettin a 20,12,14 legacy wrapped in the jammin sams material but think I might just get an element set in mod orange. Those things really look cool and the price is WAY more affordable. I am just gonna gig it anyway.

Nothing about that club date set would suggest to me that was unoriginal in anyway. I think it is just in such incredible shepa that it makes people wonder. I would guess that the club dates have the wrap right into the shells? That woukd give it away. Here is a pic of the new wrap on an element that is being matched to a 70's mod orange tom. It looks great I think! This stuff belongs to Kevin(K.O.) on drumforum.org. I am also including pics of my '04 downbeat set. Thanks for the cool pics O-Lugs! That set is a beauty!!!

Cool, Kurt! I'm not going to question your authority on anything relating to Mod Orange! If you say it's the real deal ,then it IS the real deal. Thanks for the verification.

I know the price is ridiculous, but, since the set IS real, I still like looking at it and appreciating the coolness of it. I do the same thing with Ferraris and Lamborghinis, too. You'll never see me driving one, but....

I don't know if I am an authority or not. I have just spent too much of my time obsessing over a color on a drumset!:D It is just a plastic covering afterall!:D

I do know that the striations in the jammin sams is more fine looking than the original. I think its as close as I will ever see. The color is spot on. It's wierd to because most mod orange sets have some fade and the new versions looks like it did brand new.

I am pretty sure that looks like the set I saw online years ago before jammin sams repro'd the color. I just think it's WAY overpriced.

I guess the differemce in a Lamborghini, Ferrari and a mod orange set is that I know the prospects of finding either of those cars for sale at a yard sale are next to nill! At least a mod orange could pop up when you least expect it! My 69 set showed up in a music store near my guitar players house and he snagged them for me. I paid $1100.00 for the 22,13,16 with a supra and it was worth every penny!
