It has a hook on both sides but the side that attached to the cam is more open so that it can fit around.
Also, how can I break down this pedal to change bearings.
Thanks

The drum repair person at a full service music store should have this type of spring. Many music stores have parts kits for the drums they sell. This sounds to me like it's a fairly generic part that would work for several brands of pedals. Sorry...I'm not the person to answer the bearing change question.
It appears that your pedal needs a tensioner as well.

If you look closely there is a tensioner and adjusting knob on top.
The spring that I need has to have a large enough open hoop that will slide over the roller (you can't see it) at the bottom.
this pedal does not use the set up with the triange attached to the end of the spring
Worst case is that a good mom and pop hardware store can match the spring part. Then, you can attach key ring loops with the split ends of the needed sizes to the spring. It will work very well.

Might be a strange question, but are you in Nashville? There was a guy who had the same issue with a Tama pedal at the Cobra bar last week.

Nope.. in Atlanta.
I have one pedal that is set up perfect.
Thespring attached to the hole in the rod and the other end loops over the roller... no need for keychain attachments.
This is probably one reason the pedal is so responsive.
Spring on top and nothing between tension other than the ends of the spring
