Ebay Shipping Problem!!!!!!!!!!!!

Loading...

I got an email this morning from some person from Italy on ebay asking if "I buy you for 80 dollar red bongo and mount include ship"

Ya, I don't think so pal. First of all my listing says USA ONLY, second of all I paid more than that for each, third its NOT a bongo! HmmmmMind Blowi

And you wonder why I'm really starting to hate ebay......why do they even list something for sale internationally when its only for sale in the US? I don't go on ebay Italy and ask "how much I pay you 80 dollar for everything include ship and mark gift" so why do these morons even try?

The political suff stated here is so dump, that i won't reply to that!!Toilet

Your "dump" remark is a reply.... uncalled for, but a reply none-the-less.

Occasionally, these threads take twists and turns that lead to other topics. It's called a discussion. Most of us try to remain considerate in our remarks, no matter how fervently we believe in one aspect or another of the ongoing discussion.

All of this started with NAFTA a few years back. That and corporate greed. The one place where the government SHOULD get involved, they turn their back. They should give breaks to AMERICAN companies that OPEN factories in the USA and put AMERICAN workers to work, rather than outsource or send jobs to overseas. Right now its all backwards. How much money do these corporations really need to have as profits? :mad:The other half of the problem is that the USA lets these foreign countries DUMP their products on us, while if we try to do the same those same countries suddenly have trade restrictions! Japan dumps Toyotas, Hondas, Sonys, Peals, Tamas, Yamahas, Kawasakis, etc on us, yet if we try to do the same with Harleys, Chevys, Ludwigs, Gretschs, Klose Audio, etc it gets sent back to us! Does anyone else see a problem here??But I digress, as we all have gotten off topic here......The seller (Mikey) should have held his ground to the guy from Italy and told him sorry, no sale. I don't sell to Italy, so you're out and NOT the winning bidder. He should not have let negative feedback possibilities scare him, nor should he have bothered with someone who has badgered him about cost of shipping to somewhere he didn't want to ship and customs fees! Ya, ok an expensive drum is a gift? Like customs couldn't see right through that! And the Mafia wonders why they got such a bad rap? Falling Do

Honda has a plant in Ohio.. I'm pretty sure Toyota has a plants in the US.. Mitsubishi cars are made in IL.... yes on Toyota..

You will also be glad to know that the cost to make a Mitsubishi car is $5000. That's all. The rest is for advertising. They are union workers at Mitsubishi. Part of the auto industries problem is that they want $30,000-$50,000 for a new vehicle. They have done this to themselves and it wasn't all the unions fault. Lack of forsight, for one. They've kept jacking the prices up on all their vehicles and the stupid public bought into their "keeping up with the Jones' mentality" thinking they need $45,000 vehicles to survive...

I wouldn't have a problem with american workers building foreign cars here IF the profits stayed here. They don't. They go back to Japan. And herin lies another problem.

Again, back to ebay. :D

Do you think American companies should leave whatever foreign profits they make in foreign countries as well?

I don't go on ebay Italy and ask "how much I pay you 80 dollar for everything include ship and mark gift" so why do these morons even try?

They try because they simply don't have any of this stuff in Italy but they do have money, and that money goes quite far because the USD is so weak.

Having lived in both Italy and America (as well as England) in my life, I can tell you that on a day-to-day level, Italy is my preference. The food blows away USA on any day, wine is cheaper than coca cola, architecture, art, history, etc. America talks about energy saving but does nothing while Fiat makes production cars that run on methane (mine runs on propane). I live minutes from some of the best wine in the world, skiing and the sea front.

But Italians don't have a lot of old guitars and drums. It was a poor country after WWII (remember even Vox had its guitars made here because it was "cheap" in the 60s like Asia is today) so not a lot of expensive US stuff (and it was expensive back in the day) came here for the same reason custom shop Fenders aren't going to Cambodia en masse today.

Couple all the above with the fact that Italians can be sneaky, selfish bastards---they have little respect for the law, they don't pay taxes if they can help it, they drive like maniacs, etc and you can see why they'll try any trick they can to screw customs and screw sellers if they have to.

Ebay here is a joke by the way. No Italian will ever actually sell anything at auction, it's a giant storefront buy it now for the few things they do have.

Just my experience; I used to trade CD'd vinyl etc with an Italian guy. He'd sometimes receive my packages with CD's missing, then sealed up again. When I asked him about it he wasn't surprised, saying stuff like that happened quite regularly and that the customs guys were corrupt, and used to steal CD's to sell on.

Jeez, I like the way you just lumped the entire world outside of the USA with Italy there ludwig-dude. I think you'll find the rest of the world is no more, or less sneaky and selfish than many of those in your own backyard. We're really not all that bad.Kiss (I love Italy, and the Italian people by and large. It's a beautiful country. Their ratio of a$$h0les to non a$$h0les would be on a par with pretty much any other country IMO)

BTW, I understand that Italy is very protective of some of its own 20th century cultural icons. I believe it's pretty hard to get an old Vespa scooter out of Italy. Quite keen on getting some of them back too. I have a very rare Vespa SS90 that was sold new here. They struggled to sell them in Italy so dumped a heap on our market. Only 5000 were produced and are one of the most collectable now. Collectors in NZ get very upset if anyone sells one to an offshore buyer - even Italy.
