I saw that one as well.....but I gotta tell ya....it ain't worth that kinda money.....they claim the purple is there...look at the pics, I think there is one drum with a slight hint of purple still in it. The kit has faded, and I don't care how rare (or ugly) it is, its not worth the asking price, especially in this economy.

I agree. Those drums are overpriced...But I know how crazy Kurt goes for Mod Orange....AND a 20/12/14 Clubdate to boot!

I gotta level with you. I (ME) personally don't believe that this kit is all original. I think this is a repaint/rewrap/cleanup kit. Nice job, but I honestly believe someone's not telling the truth.

And what a slimeball, they have the snare listed separately for 495! How can you justify that?!?!?!?! I know it's gonna be a long winter, but does one set have to buy ALL your crack and pipes for the winter????:2Cents:

The snare is a 2005. So what, they picked up the Gawd Awful Orange, and decided to rewrap some poor, unsuspecting shells that weren't doing anyone any harm, prolly a nice, Gold Sparkle, just hanging out, waiting for a matching snare to come along take them out for gig....

You know...I think you're right. I don't think this is an original matched kit, either.

Let's break it down for fun:

First of all, the badge numbers are off far enough to raise suspicion with such a specialized wrap. Not too many kits were made with that wrap that they would grab such random badge numbers.

Secondly, the wrap IS faded. The "zero fade" statement is obviously incorrect.

No date stamps with such a minty set? hmmmm.

I'll look for some other red flags.

The white interiors and that style of die cast part on the rail where the hex bolt tightens to the tom arm has the hex bolt offset -which indicates the early version of that one which first appeared in late 1967.

I'm not sure what to think of this one. WFL Kurt will know more when he gets here -IF he gets here! Where are ya, Kurt???Help2

If you look at the snare does the color look funky or is it me? It looks like an exaggerated mod orange. Is that what the reissue wrap looks like?
