Bought it knowing it was quality and seeing the super sensitive mechanism but other than knowing it’s old and probably a super sensitive I’m in the dark!

As indicated on the drum itself it is a Super Ludwig. I believe the Super Ludwig model was the precursor to the Super Sensitive models. Others can provide much more detailed information than I on this snare, but they were making Super Ludwig models that look similar as early as the 1920s.

Its a Super Ludwig Model.

I purchased the drum on a whim this evening. I’ve no real idea what I’ve got value wise. I ponied up for it but I feel like I got an okay deal.

The Super Ludwig has one set of wires, in the usual place.

The Super Sensitive had a second set of wires under the top head.

They both came out at the same time as far as I'm aware.....

To help you date it, up until 1930, the engraving was located to the right of the throw-off. after 1930 it is located to the left. Yours is to the lefty side panel.

Great to know!!! Any clue on a value? I’ve been told $1200-$1500.
