I don't think he meant older as in age but just people that haven't posted on here in a while.

I'm not that old (47), but i think i've exhausted my vintage drum search, collecting and restoring, but i have seen some kits from friends and acquaintances that if given the power to speak, they would have begged me for an overhaul, and if someone does ever ask me, or if i find a kit or drum for cheap that can use some restoration to make a turn over sale for profit, i may just do it. One thing i won't stop, is collecting vintage Paiste cymbals, only if and when i can afford it !. But i'm currently using modern kits for both my current music situations, and don't need anything else at this point. It's definitely a buyer's market anyway, at least around these parts. I couldn't sell my Ludwig Big Beat for any more than $875 CAN dollars, and i paid $1100. I'm now down to my '76 Supraphonic and '71 Acrolite, and that'll be the ones i keep until i have no more use for them, or until i retire. I also have been posting less, only because i don't have that much to add anymore, but i always pop in to check out what's up.

Cheers,

Rob

I think the realty is most of the older guys here (as in-long time ago) are going through what most have been saying but it would be nice in blue moons , to here from all of the gents who have not been around , just to know they are , we are ok .....

April 2nd 1969 scarfed pink champagne holly wood and 65/66 downbeat snare, and , supra same year very minty kit old pies
66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

In a self-imposed hiatus but check in and comment now and then.

After getting pooh-poohed for run-ins with 2 new members ONLY here to hock very questionable drums, and then being slandered to be "just like Trump" by a new member with about 13 posts, being called a "Troll" as well (which applies; unless you consider the fact that I was potentially interested in buying from both - and not just picking a fight for no reason) ... I just kinda got a sour taste in my mouth after being here for years. Seems like the vibe has changed here a tad. And I'm not advocating for being rude; which I hardly ever am - but certainly can be.

But it's a good thing. I no longer waste time with the ridiculous and move on. I will NEVER comment again when someone posts their heinous wares in the hopes to getting some sucker to buy their junk.

Still check in. Just finished a clean and polish of a $7 MIJ 14" FT Blue Sparkle with the nephew. Not much time for mine these days.
