Some questions about Premier dampers

Loading...

Hello everybody.

I'd like to know:

1.-Which year double round intenal damper (ref. number 638) was replaced by the square one (ref. number 1638)?

2.- Are they interchangeable? I mean same hole diameter/same holes spacing?

3.-About #638, there are two types: red felt and white felt. Which one came first?

Does anybody know? Mr. Ellis, please?

The 2 point round dampers were from the 60's then late 60's early 70's replaced by the square damper. The red 2 point damper came before the white ones. Ive mainly seen the red ones in snare drums. The holes are the same for all versions. I recently replaced a 2 point one with a square one same holes.

Morgatto ive just been in touch with nick hopkins he has a red two point damper 1960's. Not cheap but absolutely very rare and hard to find. He ships worldwide so its a good idea to buy a few things as nick will combine postage. Goto www.nickhopkindrums.com. Tell him you know me and ask for discount. All the best sean

I'll take a look, sean. Thank you.
