1 have a Frankenstein 1967 Hollywood set sans the bass drum but I also have been looking at all of these new “mini” kits. Every company is putting out 18”, 16” and even 14” bass drum sets with 10” toms and 13” floortoms.
I’m really not crazy about throwing several hundred dollars at a Chinese made set, especially when I have so many US made tubs lying around.
Thing is I want vintage gear, not DW5000 hardware and vintage shells.
The answer to my problem was these dunnett universal mounts. I could use my original Ludwig bass drum spurs, floortom legs, cymbal holders, snare, hi hat, and cymbal stands and only use three of the mounts to convert the 13” to a floortom, and the bass drum riser to convert the 16” to a bass drum.
Viola! A jungle/mini/breakbeats kit with minimal new parts.
What do you guys think?
