Note the information for the 1959 version... http://www.vintagedrumguide.com/drcjw/article_4_finishes13.htm#Also, keep in mind that this color was very popular, so Slingerland most likely had quite a bit of it in stock for many years.Finally, here is a picture of my 60's "Saleman's Sample" color swatches. The sales people would carry these with them to show music stores the available finishes. Look closely at the Red Sparkle and you'll see those same dark spots. The back is Sparkling Blue Pearl! All the swatches are now in a frame in my drum room, so I can't get to them for a picture.-Mark
