This thread has answered the riddle of the green sparkle residue on the front bearing edge of my silver sparkle Club Date bass drum! Was really scratching my head over that...

[FONT="Franklin Gothic Medium"][/FONT]When I purchased my '67 Ludwig Super Classic in glorious Champagne Sparkle in 1981, it came complete with a glittery gold front head on the bass drum. I was kind of embarrassed by it, considering it a bit too 'disco' for my R&R tastes and consequently relegated it to the batter side where no-one would see it. It did sterlng service until, of course, it eventually popped. (Kind of wish I'd kept that thing now…)

Me as well! My Slingerland LBP kit has blue sparkle residue on a few tom edges. For the life of me I couldn't figure that out.
