Rogers Holiday Snare drum Manhunt! Need Help!

Hi everyone! I apologize if this should be going in the Wanted section of the forum... I can move it if need be. I'm asking for everybody's help in my quest to find the missing snare drum that goes with my kit.

I am looking for a 1959 Rogers Holiday 5x14 snare drum in blue sparkle. Serial number #13382. Large double sided bread and butter lugs.

This drum was part of a cocktail kit once owned by Pat McLaughlin (jptrickster on DrumForum), the kit included a 16” floor tom and a 12” ride tom as well as the snare. Pat sold the kit to eBay user “lobsterbib”, who split the snare from the kit and sold it separately. I purchased the floor tom and ride tom from him, after the snare was sold, to match my bass drum, but I need to bring the snare back home to its family!!

If you know the whereabouts of Holiday Snare #13382, please let me know because I want the drum! eBay user “lobsterbib” was no help in giving me any information on who bought the snare drum, so I’m hoping somebody on here may be able to lend a hand.

There aren't many snares like this one out there, the Jasper shell, Swivomatic mount, and left-leaning transition badge makes it a special one for sure.

Rewards will be thought of at a later date. Most likely many “thank you”s and maybe a hug. MAYBE.

Spread the word! Let’s get this snare drum back home!! If anybody has any leads/information, I would greatly appreciate it.

Hi, why not just buy a matching Holiday snare? I've a raw brass Rogers 5 x 14 with B&B lugs and old style clock-face strainer, but it's an English Rogers snare. Great drum. 300 bucks and she's yours. Take it! It's a fair deal! :D

I've been keeping my eye on that one for sure. It's about two years newer than the one I'm looking for, as that one on eBay has the 3-ply Keller shell with the 45 degree edges.

I may fold eventually and get a newer one, but the perfectionist in me is waiting to find the right drum. :D

I'm obviously open to find other matching drums - my goal is to complete my kit, so I would need to find a blue sparkle snare with that left-leaning transition badge on it to complete the look.

That offer is enticing! Got any pictures you would be willing to share??

I just call it a raw brass shell. When I got it it was dark brown. I thought it was a wooden shell, but it was brass. I polished it up and it was gleaming. It looked great, but now it's got a few finger prints and smudges on it, and it should have some smudges. Anyway, it's a cool drum. I'll throw some photos up later. I was kind of half joking when I said it was for sale, but yeah, I suppose it's for sale. Everything is for sale. I'd happily keep it too, either way.

Good look tracking down your snare. That's a fantastic little set up you have there.

I'll let you know if I've got the interest and cash to buy it from you, if not I've got a few drums I would consider trading if that's up your alley. No pressure into anything right now, though, I'm still recovering from being in school since August and having no source of income! College is expensive!!!!!

Thank you for the kind words on the kit, it's my baby. With a matching 22" bass drum, the three-piece sounds delightful.

Ta-daah! As promised - Here are some pics of the snare I was going on about.

I bought a replica script logo badge for it because there was no badge on it when I got it. The replica badge doesn't have any way of attaching to the drum which I found kind of annoying. I haven't gotten around to fixing it on there, but here's the snare anyway. And by the way, it sounds great!
