Identifying an old ludwig snare

The large keystone badge with Chicago on it instead of Monroe is what dates it (84ish). Before this badge, Ludwig was using the Blue Olive badge. The black face P85 strainers were used in the early 70's. But many of these late Chicago drums have the 12 hole black face P85 strainers. Most likely a case of Ludwig using some old inventory that they had before the move to Monroe. Ludwig was known to not waste materials.

To whomever might know,

I've been searching off and on for a year now, and still nothing! I purchased a used 5 pc ludwig rocker set in Feb. Of 17, by a gentleman who purchased them new with the desire to be a drummer. Upon seeing the set for the first time, I quickly determined that his desire was not met! The original rocker heads were still on them and literally almost never touched! It still had the ludwig tags hanging from the hardware. They consist of 22,16,13,12, and 14×6 steel or chrome snare. The badges are b/w, rounded corners, w/s#'s but no box! Can anybody give some info regarding the year manufactured and value PLEASE?

I can't make out the badge on my phone clear enough. If it says "Chicago" on it then the drum was made around 1984 which was the only time that badge was used. Serial number is just a number and contains no coded information. They did go up sequentially through the years so they can aid in determining a possible time a drum was made within a year or so but more or less meaningless beyond that. There was a catalog in 1984 and if you can find a copy online you'd see this drum inside. 6 ply maple/poplar shell.

Oops, should have read page two before posting, as usual Mike is on the ball.

You guys already had it figured out. I was just adding a bit about the strainer. Here is the image from the '84 catalog. It even shows the drum with the P85 black face 12 hole strainer.
