I have a 15" transition badge in excellent condition that could be converted into a FT. It is on ebay right now with 1 bid. 1 day left.

That's my one bid haha. I'm looking to build a kit in gold sparkle with an old WFL kick drum and a pre serial gold sparkle school festival snare. Your drum would be my floor tom.kind of going for the 22 13 15 club date setup with it.

andlours - Good luck with your bid!

Drumfx - thanks for the heads up. I’m going to see if I can find ones with the regular lugs not the clubdate ones.

First off I'm all for your efforts of building a nice gold sparkle set...Just have patience Dionne.

Now I have a question for the experts. I hope it is appropriate to ask this here since the pictures are what sparked my brain. Once again let me make it clear I'm not trying to stir up issues or bad mouth anyone...I'm behind Dionne 100%. Let me explain why I have some questions....I'm the original owner of a 1965 Ludwig Hollywood set...purchased it when I was 15. All of my drums have white interiors, as well as what I believe is a much different set of hardware parts beyond just screws and washers. Also my interior date stamps are all clearly legible with no smearing. Additionally my badges are not anything like Dionne's bass badge which is just flat sheet metal with no S/N or embossing or texture. The badges on my drums look like the badges in the archives with a gold/brass color with an embossed and textured surface with stamped serial numbers. I realize badges and craftsmanship change...so...My question for the experts is when did all these details change so radically? From my memory I recall Ludwig quality to have been pretty good up to the early 1970's. In HS band I recall Ludwig interiors being painted white at least up to my high school graduation in 1969. All I need are more failing brain cells...

Does it look like the attach pic?

- 1958-1959 Ludwig Keystone Transition badge. These badges have been found on drums from the 1960's. There is no exact date of when they stopped and switched to the next badge - there are cross-over drums.

I agree with K.O. . I have a 1965 Ludwig Super Classic in Oyster Blue Pearl with dual consolettes and two 13 inch rack toms.

In my case, I think the original owner either

1) bought the 4 piece set and had the drum store/music store install a 2nd rail consolette plus purchase a 2nd tom

OR

2) bought the 4 piece set and at a later date, had the drum store/music store install a 2nd rail consolette plus purchase a 2nd tom

Strangely, the 2nd rack tom wrap really matches well with the others

The double consolettes are wonderful. I would prefer that to the center double tom post. Eagerly looking forward to pics of the kit as if forms.

I actually bought this drum a while back for a project that never went through and sold it. The guy who bought it cut it down into two snares (which killed me inside).
