Somebody selling a Rogers Dyna on CL,but it has a Big R and the script logo.
I thought it was either one or the other.
It's a correct Dyna! The "Big R" decal took the place of the oval stamped badge, but both versions always had the "Rogers" script logo.

The script logo was included during a changeover period to the Big R badges. Having both is not a problem.
The badge number 239 Big R Dyna-Sonic wouldn't be a bad thing to have. This drum was problably in the first 20 Big R Dyna-Sonic snare drums. How much? The script logo vanishes in the middle of the 10-20K range. The badge moves from being on the right side of the throw off to a position in the 2nd panel to the left of the throw off in those and all subsequent numbers. From that same 15K range up to approx. 45K... there is no dampener in the COB drum. The above pictured drum was made in the fall of 1975.
I see he's listed it for $300.
Ploughman! I was not aware that the script logo eventually went away. Thanks for the history lesson!

Always an enjoyable and informative history lesson from Ploughman. He literally wrote the book (guide) on Big R dating. Surprised he couldn't specify whether it was late fall or early fall of 1975. ;)

Hey guys,
Im working on editing an article on 60's vintage drums. My question is, where the first 200 shells that Rogers sold sourced by Gretsch?
