I'm using Firefox and Adblock Plus and have absolutely no issues with DFO. No banners or popups. I've been a member since August, 2009.

No problems for me other than on my phone but I installed a free ad blocker app and have had zero problems . I usually use my desktop and have never had a problem I am not sure why people get so bent just use an ad blocker and be done with it .

Warning ... Avoid member statuscymbal here, vintage_collector on DFO , and americanpatriot10 on eBay. Email me for his name. All are the same shady guy who has burned me and a list of other members on both boards . He is also selling on Facebook too ..

You don't quite understand that an ad blocker is not an all encompassing fix.

A lot of these fake AV and other screens are the result of java script "bombs" that make it difficult to to close the windows.

Only script blockers have that ability ,and they can cause many issues when trying to display a web page properly.

I am just telling you that I did what others that had the same issues did and it worked for all of us as a result .

Stay away from that site .It has been hacked and has had many issues over the years.I was just over there and got a java script attack.Going to report it now.See:http://www.drummerworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=139431

This is Ben, owner of DFO,having donated to VDF and always recommend VDF as well as DFO as 2 forums for fine information and discussion......I have to say.... sorry this above post is completely incorrect, we are not "hacked and have not had many issues over the years" The site is clean.

We have 2 tech guys at the ready and if you go to support tickets there have been a series of tests run and links to them showing the site is fine.

Yes we do what is called 3rd party advertising and yes there have been a few hiccups and they are being worked on, BUT it is not the site.

Honestly some of the posts I have read are more akin to a witch hunt rather than the facts. Thanks

I'm in the tech biz .

Been so for a very long time in the Silicon Valley.

No site is invulnerable from a hack, whether it be a direct site injection exploit, not having Word Press plugins up to date,SQL injection or 3rd party adverts serving up xss script exploits.

I use Firefox fully patched with the latest up to date Ad Block Plus and a script blocker when needed.

Your site over the years has been known for malicious site redirects and this is documented on other sites.

My personal experience is I can remember at least 3 or 4 redirects over the past few years when visiting your site.(including last week)

I have no ax to grind with you ,but even the best maintained sites can have issues.

On your site on my tech thread ,another user reported the same thing (red scareware) very recently.

I maintain a number of mail and web sites for biotech companies here in the valley and even fully patched and firewalled ,things still get through from time to time.

As I alluded to at one point ,the New York Times got hacked not by a direct site exploit ,but by a 3rd party advert site that had a Wordpress issue that had it serving up an Adobe Flash exploit

https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2016/mar/16/major-sites-new-york-times-bbc-ransomware-malvertising

I have sites where if you look at login attempts over the weeks and days ,they number into the thousands.

And in some cases like Wordpress ,somebody doing a query for software revision levels so they can inject malware into the site host.

You provide a good service and I commend you for your efforts, but some times those efforts fall short.

Oh by the way, you are on a blacklist.

Whoever your tech guys are ,ask them what's up.
