My Yamaha 70's kit. Info needed.

They may be considered a step down by some but, as you can see from inside the floor tom, they are really nicely finished. And you can't say that about all the big names in the 70s.

I just finished cleaning up a kit similar to this and most things were well made and precise right down to the screws that hold the lugs on. One of the easiest and most satisfying kits to tear down and reassemble. The only let down imo is the metal hoops on the bass drum which are a bit cheap and usually rust badly

Your kit is a beauty! These are the same shells and mufflers that Yamaha used for the Rogers R-360 kits in 1968. Enjoy your kit!

I know this is an old thread Trond but if you still have the drums would you mind photographing the snare throw-off for me? I have one the same but not working and possibly not complete. Your kit is the only one I can find that's of the same model/vintage

I had that one too on my D-18 kit. Very handy for a lefty as I am.

Cool! Do you still have the snare or photos showing the throw off in some details? I need to know what's missing or not working properly on mine.

Yes. It was a great and rare kit. Found the matching snare later too.
