The 7" depth is perfect in my opinion! This one has one of those nice, thick shells too. It sounds amazing!

those holes at the top in correspondence to the strainer what are they? I also have an same one , I wondered if the muffler in an anomalous position! what you think?

This drum was missing the strainer as well as the "gate" part. It also has a few extra holes from a different strainer.

I've attached a picture from google images of what the missing parts look like - hope this helps!

ok, now I understand, but mine have holes on the opposite side to the strainer, I found this very old radio king and not explain those holes, maybe extra holes?

Yes, those definitely look like muffler holes. It's hard to tell if they're original from the photo (and I'm certainly no expert), but it looks like they're for a muffler of some sort.

thanks for your answers, indeed I wondered if there was a rare model with the muffler in that position, because the holes are just one bigger in the middle and two smaller side, or maybe if someone has put it later
