I'll keep ones in good shape, such as a Rogers,Ludwig,etc... But the really beat ones I don't bother with.

There are lots of threads on how to clean up and refurbish old dirty heads with ideas like Mr Clean scrub pads, Krylon flat white spray paint and so on. I like to keep the old ones with the logos to clean up and put on the matching maker drums. Would be interesting to see how the dishwasher approach ones out.

Some old school players are leaving them be, and loving them !

April 2nd 1969 scarfed pink champagne holly wood and 65/66 downbeat snare, and , supra same year very minty kit old pies
66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

FYI dishwasher didn’t make a dent! Looks like hand scrubbing required.

My question is, why is it green, and is the head supposed to be like that? That’s a cool head, but in my opinion there’s a level of nastiness that when reached, it’s best just to incinerate the head instead of wasting some time trying to clean an old head that’s too far gone. That Rogers logo is awesome, though!
