Rogers in Denver Craigslist

In pic #9, it appears that there is a mount on the drummers left, beneath the tom. I'm not sure how the one on the top ended up there.

Nice looking Daytons for a good price. I'm a little curious about the placement of the tom mount collet on the bass drum. Any of you Rogers guys ever see a single tom mount placed dead center on top of the bass behind the script logo? Was there ever a factory catalog setup like this with the knobby cymbal mount? I've seen lots of crazy factory and custom collet placements, but never one like this.[Attachment: 115815]Just curious.Mike

My guess is that it was once a Londoner, with the mount closer to the rear than the average Londoner. However, you see that fairly often, particularly as you leave Dayton and enter the Fullerton era. A photo of a BDP set that is on eBay right now has that layout. After that, it seems to have lost the second tom, gained a tom arm that is actually for mounting a snare drum at the rear of a "Starlite" outfit or a cocktail set, and gained a knobby Cymbal mount for a ride cymbal once the Londoner layout was abandoned.

Overall, it is a great buy in my view. As someone noted, it has a 7-line Dynasonic and it's from an early period (it does seem to be missing its vent grommet). It seems to be sporting high hoops.

I'd have "been there and bought that" if it wasn't way out in Denver. Of course, I'm way out in Amman, so who am I to talk??

I hate to miss it, but I do have everything there and more except for the 14x22 bass drum. So I needn't be greedy. Someone should take a close look and then, I think, buy it.

Mine is similar, but another onyx. I kept the picture of Chris's kit because it looked so nice and ready for a backyard barbecue gig. Mine is ready for a garage band. Literally in my block wall garage in Boothbay Harbor. I like his better.

That is a great set Dan I dig it a lot ! One thing that really had me wanting Chris's set when it was for sale was the 12,14,18 configuration it is my favorite .

This black onyx is the same sizes. I haven't had an opportunity to really get used to it, so I don't know if I will like it enough to keep. Should know by summer. But I do prefer red onyx to black. Super sharp.
