Big question, how does it sound?Looks great!

It has a pretty nice sound to it. If you crank down the head it has more of a high pitch tone and a bit more ring than I would like (as you would expect). I tuned it down so it was not as tight and with the silk snare strands it gives a nice mellow earthy sound that projects really well. All in all it sounds pretty good for a 100 year old drum. Similar to the Irish drums, but with a snare kick to it.
