Rogers set at public auction (Greenville, OH)

Loading...

Not sure if anyone is near enough to get to this auction

one of the first things listed: "Set of Rogers Drums - snare & bass W/cymbal & foot pedal" - no photos unfortunately. Kind of a wild card, but seems like the auctioneer doesn't have a clue what they've got.

My drum buying budget is tapped out from the recently acquired Slingerland kit, or I'd be all over it, but it caught my eye and I thought I'd share - I'm only about an hour away from Greenville, and may still go just out of curiosity - if anyone else might be going, let me know. OR I could possibly be persuaded to go and bid on someone's behalf... :)

Drums:
Custom Classic Pro Maple 6
Other vintage gear:
1939 King Zephyr alto sax
1963 Selmer Mark IV tenor sax
1987 MIJ Fender Stratocaster, metallic blue
1970s Fender Princeton amp

The Kalamazoo guitar could be interesting as well. Basically the off brand Gibson, but some models quite appreciated, such as the one that is basically the LG-0 but says K-zoo instead of Gibson.

The Kalamazoo era of worth guitars is more the 30s, so maybe the rogers not 60s? But who knows. LIke you say, they don't know what they have it's just an estate sale.

If you click on "VIEW PHOTO GALLERY" on the site you'll see a pic of the kit. It appears to be a BDP with Swiv-O-Matic hardware and original Rogers Logo Bass Drum head.

Not meaning to start a mass exodus, but is that a DRUM KEY on that wing tom????!!!!!

Sweet.

Very nice kit and definitely worth the drive for some lucky gent...or lady (not the English usage of the terms).

Oh man... I'm afraid 'the blond one who must be obeyed' (my wife) would have something to say about me going to Ohio from California for a shot at half a Rogers kit cheap... Fun to fantasize about though... the auctioneer says 'sold to the old geezer for $12.50!';)

1.5 hours for me.... hmmm... should I burn a comp day with a trip to historic Greenville, OH.

There are some red sparkle Slingerlands at a flea market in Waynesville.. that's kind of on the way.

oh wow - the pictures weren't loading on my office computer - maybe some Google Chrome (my browser) compatibility issue! I thought it was strange that there was a dead link! Now I'm in firefox and getting the pictures. Sweet!

Yeah, I'm only about 50 miles away. But my wife would seriously punish me if I went after them...but then you think, "well...but what if...??" *sigh*

We'll see. Yeah, the Kalamazoo guitar is intriguing, too.

Saw that auction. I've been to enough flea markets to speculate that there's a really good reason the picture is still "coming soon", especially with that description.
