Flea market find (Zim-Gar)

Loading...

Obviously the original owner was a fan of the better American hardware and mounting. So he swapped out the tom MOUNT on the ZIM GAR tom to use the Slinger mount coming out of the bass drum.

So no, not a Slingerland tom at all. Also includes the Zim Gar badge.

That is a MAJOR score though! $75 for the MIJs would be great alone - cymbals and hardware to boot! Wow! Surely a highlight of your 'collecting career' if we can call it that :)

I had a great day! Instead of sleeping in and wasting the day, I got up at 8 and I had all my slacking done by noon!

Please forgive me - just read the original post in its entirety!

The blue round badge is the second badge made in NY for ZG. The Brass keyhole badge was first. Unlike many drums, these went through the assembly plant with guitars,.. bongo`s and other wooden instruments. Parts for the assembly factory were sourced from Japan and Mexico.

It`s a drum,.....Hit It !!

Hello Jday10

Thanks very much for selling me the Slingerland tom

for my little American made Frankenstein kit

I had the virgin 20" club date bass in "sky blue"

it came with the 16" round badge Gretsch floor tom in "midnight blue"

We both wondered if your 12" pre-badge Slingerland tom in "light blue" was going to be blue enough?

It turned out to be a tad more bluish than the others

I love em pal .................Thanks Kenny
