Recently inspired by grantro's stainless steel monster kit I decided to put together my Ludwig monster rocker set tonight. Have not played it yet, wife was in bed by the time I got it together. These are pretty good drums, I like the rocker lugs they have vintage vibe to them. Obviously I need to get some new drum heads and figure out where to place my hihats. And, I will try and get some better pics, these came from my cheep phone. So, anyone else have a monster kit to show off?

Great set Jeff ! Those Rockers are some nice sounding drums. 4 ply for toms and 6 for bass drum.

Does yours have the Ludcoat ? Also, is that a 20" floor tom at then end ?

Cheers,

Rob

Thanks Rob,

The floor toms are 16-18" All drums have maple interiors. And yes they do sound good, really good to my ears.

Thank you!

I've been in a very reminiscent mood lately, so here goes. This is Jerry's "monster" that literally changed my life! Cool1

Gregg, is that the one from the Chicago show? I do remember a set with the bass drums far apart like that, I know you let me play it.

Thank you!

No, this was Jerry's personal, original Blaemire kit. This is what started the whole resurrection of the Blaemire brand, and the beginning seed of the Jenkins-Martin Drum Company. Cool1

that is actually pretty cool the way the bass drums are spread out like that.

Unique. Kudos to Jerry thinking outside the box.

It was in the classifieds of Modern Drummer...

I do know. He went on to build a generic version for Premier. I have had an issue with him, so I will not name him or go into any details. A google search will provide his name...
