Why are the tom badges reversed? I just noticed. Shouldn't they be on the audience side?

That's a clear indication of just how beautiful that finish is. I never noticed the badges!

I dunno what Luddy may have originally called it...but today it's known as Blue Marine.

That wrap is funny...it can fade to so many different hues, depending on the environment it was kept in over time.

I have seen it fade slate grey...silver....olive green....and light blue. People think that they found a custom wrap color from way back..but it all started out as their standard Blue Marine.

Badges are in the correct position for that era. They decided to put them opposite the mounts so that they faced the same no matter what side the drums were mounted.

The official name of the color is Sky Blue Pearl. Its technically the same finish as Gretsch's Midnight Blue Pearl. And the badge placement is correct. My rack toms on my Black Panther kit are like that. Ludwig started doing that sometime around 1972-1973.
