Those aluminum rings at the bottom they started putting on the 6 ply concert toms are riveted on. Your going to lose 1/2 " of shell if you cut it off. My 3 ply concert toms have bearing edges and rerings on what would be the reso side. I would think twice before I messed that drum up. I know a lot of folks don't care for concert toms but some do. Sell it and find a matching drum with reso head. It's your drum. Show us a pic.

You got me real good! I came out here a little buzzed a couple of days ago and completely misread the entire post. When I read 'c-tom' I thought you meant a 'C-pattern Vistalite tom!' My response must have made you go, WTF? Laughing H

Sorry for misunderstanding... I'll just have to visit here stone cold sober from now on. Although it will limit how much time I spend here! :D

Carry on gentlemen...

John

Too many great drums to list here!

In a better late then never update....

I was able to drill the rivets out, fill the holes, blend them into the bearing edge and add bottom heads. Customer was ecstatic.... 14 & 15 toms
