From this pic we can clearly see that it's a Supraphonic that has been painted. You can see the chrome flaking under the paint.
It was in storage for quite some time before I got it, but yea I guess sounds plausable. Is the acrolyte not painted on alu though? I'm clueless =D
I think the earlier acros were anodized, but later ones (later gray then black) were powder coated.

Not enough to justify the hassle and heartache.
I could better assess the Rogers set... but in my opinion... based on the little I could see and the numbers posted... they are more of a hassle than they are worth. So is the lacquer sprayed on or put on with a throw away brush? 2ndly, some of those badges do not belong to some of the drums.

So you're saying some of it is fake or what? .. Just not worth anything? The rogers kit color.. all I can say is that it's a layer surrounding the wood because you can see a obvious layer edge along the side of it. Like it was wrapped around it and put in place with the lugs. And I don't think any of the methods you mentioned were used >_> ..

So, ... they are quite valuable. You should be able to quadruple your investment, even if it is high. The snare is worth a fortune on its own.
The reality is a lot less than that.
One of those drums shows a clear interior XP8 shell. It should not have a badge with the numbers you posted. That badge has been replaced. None of the 60xxxx badge drums should have natural maple exterior from the factory. So one can only assume they have been refinished... the original pearl stripped off and refinished with a lacquer or a polymer finish. Value is greatly reduced. The canker ridden supraphonic will never be worth 200 dollars. They are a dime a dozen. 75-100 max in the condition it is in. A pristine version will only make about 300-400 if it is super clean.

Oh don't worry, I appreciate the honesty! And I actually will quadruple my investment on just the cymbals (I got it very cheap..) But since I knew nothing about it and don't know my drum set history good enough I figured I needed to know what kinda drums I might have. And if it was worth the effort to fix them up into good shape. At least now I have an rough estimate on what I can get for them and that I wont hate my self for selling them off for nothing. Hehe.
