Please help identifying this set

Loading...

Hi.

Does anyone know what Set this could be?

I assume the blue shell set is a Rogers, but I couldn't identify.

It was offered to me for a very good price and I would like to give it a new home where it's actually played :) but the seller is not interested in sending detailed pictures and it's an hour for me to drive up there. He basically said take it or leave it.

What do you guys think?

Thank you!

The blue set is not Rogers. For a second I thought it might be a Slingerland because of what looks like a Zoomatic tom mount, but it's not either..I'm assuming MIJ because of the metal BD hoops, but just a guess. The lugs have got me stumped. Usually MIJ's have Slingerland type lugs. The ride looks like it has potential.

Hello,

If the hardware parts came original with the drums, it must be a Star kit.

Have a look here:

http://www.tamadrum.co.jp/anniversary/expansion.php?cat_id=8&now=7

From the poor quality of the picture it's very hard to tell whether the drums

are Star, too.

Cheers, Ralf

NB: if the price is low, I'd go to see the kit in any case. As funkypoodle stated, the cymbal/s may be a bargain as well.

The same kit & the hardware is bang on...

It's a Star....i know that Footpedal & hat std anywhere..

Just a side comment on the flr Tom...the lugs do look a lil like a Ludwig..

However the flr Tom hoops are not..

Great! Thanks you!

I guess I'll give it a try! It's 150 € which I guess is worth an hour drive

I'll keep you posted!

Here's a nice picture from the Star 1972 catalog showing the pedals. So, if they are original to this kit, then it is a Star.

It's definitely a Star set, but it will clean up nice, and with good heads and proper tuning, you'll have a good gigging kit. I'd put the silver tom up for sale, but that's just me.

I picked it up:

It's a Sonor Swinger with the matching snare and with an additional 12" Sonor Action Tom.

I'm not sure about the hardware, could be Star indeed.

The cymbals are a 14' Paiste Stambul, a 14' Sonor Tyrko (I guess both Hi-Hat tops), a 16' Rome (the word Rome (?) surrounded by a star) and a small splash mounted on the hi-hat.

The snare stand and the cymbal stand are original Sonor Hardware.

Everything looks pretty beat but I guess it was a more than fair price... I'll post pics once it's been cleaned.

Again thanks for your help.
