Vintage Baxter Kit

Loading...

Hello,

I scored a great deal on a vintage Baxter kit (pre-MIT Baxter's). Sizes are: 20/14/12/14. Whole kit is in amazing shape, wrap is awesome, just needs a cleaning. The guy even delivered it to me, and gave me a TON of extras (vintage cymbals, stands, kick pedals, etc), including a cool Coronet snare. I'm gonna make that snare a clean up project, from the ground up, re-cut edges, new heads/wires, etc. When I get all the extras sold off, I'll have made my money back, plus make a chunk of cash...which I'll probably just spend on more drum stuff :/ I'm going to have the edges re-cut on the Baxter kit to, like I did on my Stewart kit, put all new heads as well. Will use as another 'live' kit.

Fun hobby.

Cool drums. Coronet snare has what look like they call "Red Grain Pearl" wrap in the '69 Pearl catalog. Don't see that often.

Wanted: Pearl President floor tom in Golden Grain wrap and rack tom in Tiger Eye (root beer) wrap.

Thanks, I was wondering the name of that finish. I'm gonna strip that one down and give it some love.

Very cool, thanks for that. Were these Baxter kits Pearl made then, at the same factory?
