Need some advice. I just scored 3 Hard shell NOMAD cases for $80.00.

14 X 10 and two 16 X 16's. All 3 are in really good shape. I was wondering what I should use for padding or protection. As you can see from the pics there isn't enough room for foam. Anyone have an ideas.

Get some camping foam bed pads from an outdoor store. Or yoga mats. Both are thin with dense foam.

Here's what I do..

Use bed topper foam...I pick it up usually for free or $5/..

(Usually coned shaped in one side & flat on the other)..!

Can of water solvent spray glue..(up to you)

Cut foam to go in the bottom & top..

Then the sides..

Done..

If you want to spend some money you can buy three-quarter inch sheet of armor flex

you can't get any better than that for padding

It may come in 1/2" if I'm not mistaken

I'll have to look that up. I just don't know If there's enough room for any kind of padding. The drum is pretty tight in the bottom half of the case.

I was thinking of that too Kelly but I don't think there's enough room. The drum is pretty tight in the case.

I used to use large beach towels in my old hard cases. i'd drape the towel evenly over the open case and insert the drum. Fold the ends over once in the case and put the cover on.

Glenn.

Not a guru just havin fun with some old dusty drums.
