70's Premier Elite Kit?

Loading...

Hey Guys,

I have interest in this kit but I am not a Premier expert.

The add says it is a Premier 70's Elite. Does this look right to you?

The sizes are 13, 14, 16, 22 (no snare).

Would this be beech/birch or do you think it could be mahogany? Looking at the floor tom, re-rings can be seen.

Any thoughts on these kits in general?

The rims should be die cast right?

The color isn't the greatest but maybe a good candidate for a wrap at the right price?

Thanks!

It's not an Elite - they had 10 lug bass drums

From the pics it does look to be Birch

I'm no expert on Premier but I've heard that their drums sizes, due to it being English, are sometimes odd due the different measuring systems used - so their 12" could be slightly smaller. This could possibly pose an issue when it comes to heads. just m2cw

Drums: Ludwig / Star / Tama / Yamaha
Snares: Arai /Mapex / Ludwig / Slingerland / Star / Tama
Cymbals: Meinl / Paiste / Tosco / Wuhan /Zildjian / Zyn

They were pre-international in sizes up to '68. You can find some 'transition' kits with mixed tom sizes after this for a couple of years but the kit in question is mid 70's so all standard sizes

Thanks Dukekamaya for clearing that up. Where would you find those odd-size heads for pre-68 kits? Do the big co's manufacture them?

Just to confirm Remo do make all the pre international heads for a premier kit. So get out there and buy those premier drums.
