That's a nice finish. The tom mount is the tubular one Premier introduced after the more oval one found in 1970's and 80's kits. I'm not sure exactly when it came in, but I bought an APK bass drum new in 1994, and it had the same mount. It looks like it's been around a bit! I'd say it's mid-90's. If you search this forum, there's a Premier timeline somewhere. Looking for references to 'special edition' will help you pin it down. I think this refers to the finish though. Snare doesn't look like a Premier though. What are the sizes?

Tama Superstar, 22, 22, 16, 14, 13 Desert Burst
Premier Genista, 22, 16, 13, 12 Black Lacquer
Premier Genista, 20, 14, 10 and snare Black Lacquer
Premier Resonator 22, 16, 14, 13 poly creme/black
Zickos 22, 16, 14, 13, clear acrylic and snare

Brody thanks for the reply. The snare isn't premier no the origional stuff is all the toms the bass pedal and the hi hat stand the rest is a mixture of bits and bobs,You can see the tom mount on one of the pics i have clamped it to a stand because i like to play low and because it has deep toms it was just too high mounted on the Bass Drum. I really like this kit it has a really nice sound even now and it is seriously in need of new heads i think your right the special edition refering to the finish because when i looked at the 90's catalogue the balck pearl finish wasn't available on kits that looked similar,The kit had been stored in a lock up forever but i think it has been well giged myself, Just curious as of the actual model and whether it was an entry level kit or pro kit, the sizes are as follows but these arn't exact messurments just rough guides 18/22,16/16,12/13,11/12

It's a standard set of sizes, so I'd guess it's just a limited finish. If it sounds good and you like it, I'd keep hold of it. It won't be worth a great deal, as it's only the really old premier stuff that's got a level of collectability. You'll probaly find with anew set of heads it wll sound as good as if not better than an average premier kit today.

Tama Superstar, 22, 22, 16, 14, 13 Desert Burst
Premier Genista, 22, 16, 13, 12 Black Lacquer
Premier Genista, 20, 14, 10 and snare Black Lacquer
Premier Resonator 22, 16, 14, 13 poly creme/black
Zickos 22, 16, 14, 13, clear acrylic and snare

Can someone of the admins stop these stupid spammings (63 'threads" in the meantime) please?

I really don't understand how stupid these Chinese (?) people are to think that anyone over here is anyhow even thinking about buying copies of fashion labels.

This is a drummer's forum.

Someone really must be a person with a plain pattern to act this way ...

Are the Premiers from this era and now still made in England? Just curious. They still look really good to me but I've never had my mitts on one. Someday ...

Enjoy your new kit Matt and a hearty welcome to you!

The kit in the original post is English made, however, Premier no longer build kits in England
