Is this snare genuine President or not?

Loading...

I have recently bought this snare with a badge attached to it that says "President". However, there are some things that seem suspicious to me, like for example, the vent (which is fixed to the badge) being cut from the inside as if it was removed from another drum, blotches of glue on the badge, the shell and hoops being super warped and so on and so forth.

This is what the description said:

A very rare "President" snare drum. A subsidiary of Carlton made in England by Dallas.

Excellent condition. 1960s

Ten tuning lugs, slot head tension rods. Decent Everplay heads. Internal tone control.

Stunning "Mahogany Swirl" wrap. This finish was common to many English made drums in the 1960s... Olympic, Beverley etc so the drum would sit well with any of the above.

Fab sound.. a "cracking" drum.

I CAN post Worldwide BUT... Watchers outside mainland United Kingdom please contact me for exact post price.

Can someone please identify this drum? Thanks.

Thanks. Any thoughts on the wood grain direction? Are re-rings supposed to be present?
