18" Wood Hoops

Loading...

I'm looking for two 18" bass drum hoops. I'd prefer black, but natural finishes would be okay, or anything that might look good with oyster black pearl.

I have a set.

They came on my black kit but I got new ones from Yamaha... some bass pedal rash but otherwise fine. Matt black finish not the piano black Yamaha finish. Maple I assume but I can't be certain.

Thanks for the tip! I take it these are unfinished? I'm looking at their site on my phone so I might be missing that detail.

Anyone know the significance of having a 12-ply versus a 10-ply hoop? It's hard to imagine it making a difference regarding sound. My current hoops are 3/8" thick but I don't know about the ply make up.

They also have square edges, and are not set up for insert strips. That being said, I have ordered several sets over the past few years, and very happy with them. Used as both natural and painted black. Also had wrap insert groove cut in a set. Quality product.
