Not a question, but more of a rant. I'm not asking, I'm telling. :P
Here is why I think it makes more sense to measure cymbals by radius. First of all, Hi Hats! the difference in diameter between a metric 14" (35cm) and an Imperial sized 14" is 3/8 of an inch, but when you pair these cymbals together you have a mere 1.5/8 of an inch overlap. The Cymbals are mounted at the centre, but we measure them by diameter. The playing surface is from the centre hole to the edge. 16" hi hats are one inch larger than 14" hi hats.
