Hey Guys,Are the Hydraulic Glass heads lower in volume than most other heads? They appear to be in most videos I watch. Or maybe it is the perceived volume because of the shorter sustain and lack of overtones?I'm looking to get the volume down on my kit a bit due to a small jam space. Playing lighter is an obvious answer to get the volume down but adjusting the equipment to help would be nice so I can still have fun laying into it bit. I'm playing mostly classic rock type of stuff. Thanks

The EVANS Hydraulic Glass heads will absolutely be much lower in volume! Back in the day I played those on my Fibes clear Crystalites as those heads were able to "tame" the sharp attack of those shells quite a bit vs. regular heads .. plus .. they gave the toms a nice "thud", but still with plenty of pitch/tone. The Hydraulic Glass heads are two plies, plus the small bit of oil between the plies ... so, much lower volume. You can still lean into 'em of course, and they will give more back, but it takes some impact. Would certainly work well for Classic Rock stuff too.
