Speed King and Cable Contraption Test

Loading...

Last night, I finally got to try out my "new" Speed King ("Dating my Speed King"...Vintage Drums).and the my modified cajon pedal with the flexible cable ( "Flexible Connector...Pedals"...General drum Questions). I still like my DW-500 BUT, the Speed King was light and VERY responsive. I attached the flexible bicycle brake cable pedal to it's home-made mounting block, placed the master pedal near my hi-hat pedal and was ready to go! A new, heavier Dixon beater was also employed. To my great relief, with the different cable mounting system and a few other modifications, it did what it was supposed to do the entire practice. I used it only as an accent, often when I switched to the ride, cow-bell or wood block. I still enjoy various techniques involving the hat. All in all, I can see the Speed King becoming my main pedal and my cable contraption sticking around for the time being. I want to thank everyone for their involvement and contributions. Your expertise and talent are GREATLY appreciated!

Hey, Rod!

Thank you so very much for your kind words. You're one of the gentlemen on our forum who deserves all the praise other members bestow. You're always there for others and are certainly the first to offer any assistance possible. I know this personally! Even your replies are always positive...never judgemental. Thanks again, my friend!

Hi, Mike!

Glad to hear from you! Yep, your pedal is fantastic! I would publically like to thank you for such a beautiful instrument! Like Rod, you're one of the great ones on the Forum! You're right about the camera. I'm just so lousy with tech stuff! I can't type worth a damn ( one finger pecking) and am lucky I don't screw up this computer more than I do. Maybe time an old dog at least tries to learn some new tricks. Thanks again for responding, my friend!

Hey, John!

Thanks for responding, amigo! My wife just bought a cell phone and is learning how to use it. She seems more adept than I. Texting, for her, seems second nature! Maybe soon...Thank you for even responding to my little post. That, for me is an honour! You are such an esteemed member of this wonderful forum that I am flattered. For me, you have taught me a lot over the years. I still shake my head at the generosity you have bestowed upon me. You are a very generous and altruistic human being, sir. You have my deepest respect. Because of your gift of "paying it forward, I have been helping out shortyedwards (non -U.S.A., Star restoration project). He needed a Star spur, I am giving it to him! Thank you again for everything you do for your fellow drummers and restoration fanatics. You sir are the best!!!

I too really want to see this thing.

If you take a picture with your wife's cell phone, The photo will show on your screen.

A small image of your photo will be at the bottom left of your screen.

Touch it and open it.

Now there will be a little icon at the bottom of the screen that allows you to message or email that pic.

It looks like a box with an arrow going up.

Touch that icon.

Choose mail.

Send it to your name.

Email it to yourself or your wife, whoever has a computer.

When sending the email it will say "Empty subject", you can ignore that and press send.

Or, if you want, you can type a subject. You don't have to have a subject title.

When it says size of pic, go with medium.

When you get your email. Open it.

Drag the pic out of the email to your desktop.

Now rename the pic so you can find it when you attach it to your post.

I know, ........BUT, .....it gets easier the more times you do it.
