Sizes and makers anyone? thanks

And why did they tape his cymbals all to hell? Were they playing to a track you think?

Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus. Jethro Tull was playing to a track I think. The best on this vid is Mitch Mitchell backing John Lennon doing Yer Blues. Keith Richards on bass, Eric Clapton lead. Clive Bunker is still one of my favs. Recording engineers used to always want to tape stuff, but so did some drummers. I always got a kick (no pun intended) out of Bunkers mix 'em up kits. I saw him play with Tull in 70 or 71 at the Filmore West.

Ok...I think I got this one....A Rogers B&B lug bass drum (possibly a Yamaha, but probably not), a Sonor rack and floor tom and a Premier or possibly Olympic snare drum......

Opinions?

Definitely miming to a track - there's slide guitar throughout, but no one shown in this video is playing it. Also, the harmonica parts are too close mic'd to be played by the bass player (not to mention that frontman Ian Anderson played the harmonica on the record). I do think Jethro (<-that's a joke!) might be doing the vocals live though, which I understand was a fairly common practice on TV shows back in the day - have the band record an instrumental track and then the singer sings live to it while the rest of the band pantomimes for the cameras.

That's curious J-bass too - left hand neck... is that a right hand body?..the body looks like he left it on the floor at Maaco while they painted cars.

I know, Jethro (wasn't he on the Beverly Hillbillies?) and the boys were sponsored by Goodwill!

Sorry for the OT--

but I never realised that was Mitch Mitchell in Yer Blues. I've always heard he was a Gretsch guy, but that's the only time I've seen him with Gretsch--generally Premier I think, no? .

Jet Black Nitron?

13 - 16 -22?

Also, it was common for live vocals over studio tracks. There are a number of Stones ones on Youtube including for Under My Thumb--the one where Brian Jones is playing vibes. Not sure about this one as I am not knowledgeable enough about Jethro Tull to be able to compare to the studio version.

As was the guy from Taj Mahal. Although I agree that it was played to a track but vocals live, Toni Iommi was holding a slide... remember he was in Jethro Tull for a short period

I respectively disagree. Although the Beatles could have easily played Yer Blues and they would have been the knock out- the Who ruled the rock 'n roll circus in my opinion.

could this kind of brand be in there as well? Did sonor always have those mis matched lugs?
