Just did a Sinatra Show at a beautiful theater in Hartford, CT and there was a photographer present, and he took some really nice shots! Normally I wouldn't put myself up in a pic .. ( Look away, I'm hideous! ) .. but it's such a nice pic of the 1967/68 Fibes COF Buddy Rich's in action that I thought you might enjoy! These drums are in the exact BR era/build from back when he played a full Fibes COF set for a hot minute in 1967. The sizes are:

Indeed!, not WMP, but that's because Fibes never offered WMP. Their standard wraps were all metal during this era, and they offered: Chrome over Fiberglass (COF) ... Antique Brass ... and Antique Copper. When Buddy played his full Fibes set in 1967, they were finished in COF. He only played them for about 6 months in the back part of 1967, then hooked on with Slingerland in 1968. So, these are an authentic era/build Fibes Buddy Rich set! I've been gigging these for about a year now. I finished the restoration last April actually. These are RARE in this build/year, as they are 1st generation Bob Grauso built Fibes, and in Buddy's sizes and configuration. Buddy's Fibes, as are these, were built 3 years prior to CFMartin taking over the company/production in 1970. THANKS for the kind words and comments Gary! :)

THANK YOU!, you are too kind! It is a nice pic for sure ... of the drums! :) I have to agree though, it does capture the LIVE feel of the show. Nice work, Tommy! I especially like your floor tom rolls at the end! Cool cymbal work too! My eyes are not the best but, do you hold your sticks in a matched grip? I'm just wondering because from what I've been lead to believe, most jazz and swing drummers use the traditional grip. Just curious. Even though I play rock, I learned the traditional grip many years ago. I try the matched grip occasionally but, it just doesn't feel right for me. Anyway, thanks for giving us all a personal glimpse of you and your talent. Now we can put a face to our "boss" and associate talent with the name! Thank you!
