Speed King, 60's-70's

Loading...

Because of a recent poll initiated by grantro, I feel it is now time to try a Speed King. I currently play with a DW-5000 which I like but...There are several listed on Ebay and even a couple on our local buy and sell site but, I'd rather buy from someone on our own forum. Keep it in the family. Thanks.

Hi Brian!

I'd be happy to sell a nice refurbished SK to you! I purchased this one some years ago on eBay, from seller "carlclub". The cosmetic condition pictured is the way I received it. You can also see that each post cap has a screw in it. Carl was inserting these to allow for easier removal of the cap and instructions are provided. I don't believe he does them this way anymore. Also, if you look closely, you'll see 2 different hoop clamp wing bolts. The current wing bolt is the one pictured as SK-2. I purchased this pedal as more of a fashion statement to go with a few of my vintage Ludwig kits, but were basically never used. It just sat there looking pretty! Again, it's a refurbished pedal and works great! The vintage Ludwig beater is also included. PM me if you're interested and we can discuss price. Finally, I'm leaving today For San Diego and will not be back until next Saturday, but will have my laptop with me to keep up to date on VDF!

If you're serious, contact Vincent at Polyphonic Drums. He now owns Drumechanix and will sell you a Super Speed King for about $175. Smooth as butter, no squeeks, and gaurenteed for life! I have one and love it. Better than new and I highly recommend if you want a modern classic with new technology and no squeeks.

He sells on eBay or Google Polyphonic Drums.

1966 Ludwig Clubdate Oyster Black

I also have been thinking about getting a speed king as of late...A 70`s model with matching hi hat stand...

Who was the member that rebuilds these? BFulton?
