I'm new here!

Hi everyone -- I'm new here, although I've been lurking for a while. I primarily play vintage Ludwig drums, but I recently restored a set of '68 Sonor teardrops. I used to own a set of Phonics that I sold several years ago, and I've been kicking myself ever since (I love beech). I am going to try and post a pic of the teardrops here (the pic isn't the greatest, but I tried).

The 13/16/20 kit was in ok condition when I got it. Originally it was Slate Pearl, but it has uniformly darkened to a BDP. 40% of the kit was rechromed, and the hoops you see are brand new Ludwigs, straight from the factory. It came with a matching snare that I had to canibalize a little bit to put the toms together. The 16" internal muffler was in bad shape, so I took apart a new Ludwig muffler and used some of the parts to rebuild the original one (works like a charm).

Anyways, this kit was a lot of fun to put back together. I own 6 other kits, all of them Ludwigs, of which 4 are vintage (including a '68 13/16/22 Mod Orange kit).

Welcome

And very nice set. I lurked for quite a while before I joined in the fun as well. Let's see some more of those cans!
