Hello!I have a couple of old cymbals that I may want to sell, but I have no Idea what they're worth, and what year they're from.. so I was hoping someone here maybe knew a thing or two about them? Any info is appreciated :)The brand, type, size and country:PA Meinl Meteor Ride 20" (good condition)Sabian B8 (Plus?) ride 20"/21"? (good condition)Lyn Crash/ride 18" (bad condition)Sabian Crash 16" (has a crack near the bell)Paiste 200 Hi-hat 14" (good condition)Sabian B8 Pro Splash 12"/30 (good condition)-Sabian crash and ride is from Canada-PA Meinl Meteor ride is from Germany-Lyn crash/ride is from England -Paiste Hi-hat is from West Germany Also have a cymbal bag (three pockets)Istanbul bag (OK condition, the main zipper is missing.. easy fix)

I can't give you ages or prices for your cymbals, but it looks like all of them are entry level non-professional models and not worth much on the used market. While I have no idea what they would be worth in Norwegian Krone, as a group I think its safe to say they don't have a lot of value. Perhaps others can chime in with real numbers,

+ 1 on those cymbals being beginner cymbals, and not worth that much..

If i had those cymbals here's what i'd sell them for..

Meteor- $40-45

Lyn-- (In it's condition is actually junk, but would make a nice FX cymbal if cut down, or a nice,

inexpensive stack cymbal. $20..

Sabian splash-- $30.00 (although beginner, they're pretty solid.)

Sabian 16"- $20

Sabian 20" (they didn't make 21")$50.

Paiste 200 hi hats-- I'm a Paiste user, and I also collect vintage Paiste cymbals and have a fair amount of knowledge on their cymbals. Although beginner level, they're a discontinued series, and actually sound quite nice..

Made between 1985-1991.. Those are the most valuable of the bunch, and i'd sell them at a respectable-$75.00

Hope this helps !

I assume your quoting the value in Canadian dollars which would make your numbers even lower in USD based on the current exchange rate. Just a straight extrapolation in USD would only be around $180 for the lot. As we both agree, not much value there. If it were me I would probably give them to a young student rather than take the likely excessive time and effort needed to search for a buyer for so little gain.

LOL ! Yes Mark, i keep forgetting this forum is an American one ! If it were me i'd only keep the Paiste hats, just cause i collect them, but your idea of giving away the rest of the cymbals to some beginner student is much better

although if the owner would like to sell them, it's his choice ;)

Thank you guys for the information and initiative, really struggeld finding a "concrete price" per cymbal, it truly helped set the whole picture straight :)

I don't really have any student that may need these, and I certainly have enough cymbals myself. I got all these cymbals and more when I bought an old Pearl Export kit (package deal). All I actually wanted was an vintage Zildjian K custom dry ride 20"(That was included), but ended up loving the deep "rock" tone I got out of the drum kit.. so I ended up selling a couple of old cymbal stands (that was included), (and now these cymbals) and keeping the kit, a Rogers snare stand, the ride and also a per of vintage Paiste Alpha hi-hats 14". I couldn't be more happier with the deal, well the kit and the stand needs to be dismounted and restored, but I kinda like to do that :)

Lol. I don't think of it as an American forum since we have members from all over the world. But because we're dealing with different values of the US vs Canadian dollar, I wanted to clarify.

Maybe you can donate some of the cymbals to a school. But when my son was in school, they already had professional level cymbals. It's really low end used stuff. I wouldn't waste a whole lot of time trying to sell them.

Sorry - I am going to have to strongly disagree concerning the Paiste 200 HHs. Imagine the same pair of hats - in 2002 B8 alloy and then you have a pair of 400s - which are worth that $75. As for the 200s - they are made of BRASS and sound horrible. $30-40.

I had a great day! Instead of sleeping in and wasting the day, I got up at 8 and I had all my slacking done by noon!
