I just noticed the pic that shows the seam. The lug on the top side of the lap or the bottom ? If it`s on the top side of the lap it`s a professional build.

I was hoping those photos would help out ... anyone else have anything? I am trying to decide what I want to do with these; either strip off all the hardware or try to bring them back to life...

I read somewhere that the owner Charles Miller passed away in 1967.

the basshoop on mine scalloped out from the rest of the hoop, which I thought was a cool feature. I have never seen any other like that. It was not a cookie cutter feature, IMO. Between the cool lugs and that, I thought they were looking to establish a cool identity.

If it were me, I would clean them up and leave them as-is. Cool wrap, cool lugs.

If you decide you want to get rid of them, let me know.

Hey all, just found this forum while looking for some info on a set of Miller band instrument company drums. I have a 5 piece, well 4 the senate is not a miller, 20 in bass, 12, 13 mounted Tom's, and a 16 floor tom. I have had them since the mid u0s and to this day have never seen another miller set, but from here I see they are out there.

I have read some of the posts, will get to the rest, just looking for info, not looming to buy or sell. Any info pasted on is appreciated.

Here are some pics, if I can get them to upload. This set has been in storage for a good few years, I have not got the chance to clean them up, please excuse the mess they are in. They do clean up nicely. Some of the hardware has been changed. The mounts on the mounted Tom's use to mount on the bassdrum, that has. Een removed. The legs on the bass and floor tom are original. The mufflers on all the toms are gone. Although the handle on the floor tom muffler is still in place, the muffler is not. The mufflers, or whatever the proper name is, were a bracket, attached to the handle, when turned, it pressed a piece of heavy felt, about an inch and a half wide by 2 to 3 inches long, up against the drum head. The more you turned the more contact with the head, and more pressure on the head to dampen the head from ringing.
