Premier Dominion Super

Hello all,

I am edo long from holland. Recently i have a primier Dominion Super. This was still my father, as refurbishing it. I started this and also looked up some information. What i can see is, this snare is modified. The upper snare is no longer present and the holes are expertly sealed. The factory? Now with logo and serial number. I miss the lever of the strainer. Also there is some cracks in one of the lugs. I would like to fill it up but do not know with what. does anyone have an idea? I have two snare mats. a smale and wide. do not know yet what I take. I have a backsheet Evans Hazy 300 and Remo ambassador coated sheet.

If anyone has any questions, I know.

Sincerely edo

For the cracks,

I would try arts and craft grade solder, the commercial grade tools are large, if you can`t go that way, try auto Bondo. You can polish both off, leaving only what`s filled the cracks.

Really nice drum. I think it`s worth professionally fabricating a new lever.

It`s a drum,.....Hit It !!

Hi Edo,

Nice snare and video.

I'm definitely not an expert on your / any premier snares.

However, what puzzles me is that your snare won't come of your bottom head when lowering your lever.

Do I see it correctly that your snare mechanism is a parallel one? So with a cross bar running through your shell?

This might mean that both sides of your snare mechanism should lower when lowering your snares. Is that the case?

Good luck!

He wouter,

Yes it is a parallel mechanism! But it lowers just a little bit..i don't know what they used back in the day... i have no examples..maybe i have to visit a drum shop specialized in vintage drums.. Do you know any in Holland?

I don't know any drum shop specialized in vintage drums. Perhaps a Premier enthousiast here / Facebook Premier page / Facebook Dutch vintage drum meeting page could help you.
