[COLOR="DarkRed"]It's kinda cool lookin'. It has single-flange hoops with clip claws...so, yeah, probably 1940's-early 50's. Not sure if that throwoff is original, though. But if the metal isn't very pitted/rusted, at $50-60 could make it a nice popcorn-type snare drum. I'd offer $50 only because it looks like the metal will need a bit of cleaning/polshing.[/COLOR]

Cool1 Kudos Jaye!! As I am an almost daily reader of these posts since my turbulent entrance, I must salute your total disclosure of facts, PRICES, and information. I have noticed that most guys mostly talk around the actual dollar amounts when estimating and if anything is sold on here, it is PM'd and nobody can get a sense of the value of that particular piece/kit. I have also noticed a few that only use the forum when something needs to be bought/sold.Lame This is not to slam the site or anything like that. The intent is to salute your attitude and meaningful contributions towards this forum. When you answer a post, the question is ANSWERED, not vaguely touched on or redirected or totally dismissed. Hi all, To me that snare i would go 50.00 tops,it looks like it needs some work on cleaning it up...Do you know if the shell is brass or steel??? if its brass shell i would go 60.00...By looking at the drum it think its a 40s ROXY snare.[NOT THE NEW ROXY JAPAN MADE DRUMS OF TODAY]] They were made in west germany...mikey

No, no, no. I wasn't even thinking about you when I wrote that post dude. I was simply reading several posts and noticed that Jaye is always offering real advice, real answers, real numbers and real dollars. There are others: Mcjnic, this pains me but Ludwig_dude, Mastrosnare, to name a few that also offer the same quality responses. I sometimes get put off when I see answers that just don't seem to answer a question completely and you know the author is holding back. Also, actual dollar amounts are pretty rare too. I just felt the urge to commend Jaye on his approach to this forum at that point in time. Your post was not being compared to his if this clears this up. I do not know the advantage of being the "guy" who knows stuff and doesn't share it but apparently there is advantage to this based on what I have read on here. I am also learning that being credited for information is more a big deal than I thought it would be and this may be the reasoning for the "light" answers.
