But all I've got right now is a Swiss Bank Knife...
CryBaby
Talk about inflation, This set was $10,000 last week and didn't sell.
I'm telling you, I just don't get it. Why would one kit be so much more valuable just because it had a particular wrap? This is why I could never be a proper collector. It's the same drum! It's got a different wrap. The badge is nice. Wow. Man, I'm really suffering from a disconnect on this. I guess it's going to be someones display? That's just an odd thing to do with an instrument. I'm just glad that a lot of you guys play the drums we all love. It would be a strange place if everyone collected these beauties and then never let them sing. my two cents.
I totally agree with drumhack.
To the seller, this may be worth a fortune. To buyers it's pretty valuable, but usually both parties make some sort of agreement below the asking price. I would expect this seller will ultimately be a bit disappointed.
It's interesting that the seller listed it at $10,000 - got no bites, and thought, "I know . . . I'll raise the price 75%! That will get people interested!".
Whoever buys this should make damn sure all the drums are in round, the hoops are flush, there are no stripped tension rods or lugs, all that good stuff before even agreeing to name a price. Especially because there aren't any returns - so check it out in person first if you can. That's way too much money to drop on any instrument without having laid a finger on it.
All that said . . . I'm sure none of us would mind having this in our collection!
But it's the "holy grail" of drumsets.
I actually think it got one bid for $10K, but the reserve wasn't met - ridiculous.
Of course there is the possibility that the seller paid more than that for it, to begin with.

Actually it would only be the "holy grail" to someone who was looking for that kind of set......Gene Krupa's first set of Radio Kings would be the Holy Grail for others....see where I'm going with this?
Would I pay anything more than $3500 for that kit on ebay? No. I'm not looking for one of them, so to me its not worth it, to others....its their wallet....let theirs get lighter...LOL
