Anyone know what the shell material was for the "normal" size shells from around the mid 60,s?..Im hoping it is beech because they would be Sonorish!!...these oldies are getting so old, there will be a time when they are just simply too old to considerHurting
Trixon
They are beech😆

Christian
Beech is correct!, but they could also be birch! Most all I have seen from the mid 60's through say 1968 have been beech though ... Christian is correct! Here's a pic of my 1967 Trixon 1/440 Standard that shows the very nice beech shell to good advantage ... ENJOY!

Hey Wayne!
It was the "earlier" 3 ply w/rings shells that were mostly birch! When Trixon changed to the 6 ply shell no rings .. ( around 1965 or so ) .. the shells were primarily beech!
