Ludwig Super (Pre-Serial) COB/Orange-Peel Acrolite

From Purdie Shuffle

As well you should. "COB" was in the title of the for sale thread, I don't know how you read that 'COA'. The price was so low because I always price my drums as honestly and fairly as I can, not because there is something wrong with them. I buy well and it allows me to pass the deal on to the next guy. I never look to 'make a killing' selling drums, especially to my friends at the forum. You missed out on a killer deal because of procrastination and paranoia. That's why it's important to check the feedback of the people you're dealing with before entering into negotiations. It's always good to know that you can deal with someone with complete confidence, it makes everything go smoothly and everybody is smiling at the end. Thanks for your interest in my drum. Maybe next time.John

Ouch, that hurts.

I read the LM400 and therefore thought the COB referred to the hoops. I thought all LM400's were COA and that the COB shelled drums were simply (Super) 400's without the LM.

If anyone wants to sell me a mint COB Super 400, I'm still in the market.

Big shout out to El Moonlight Drummer for being one of the coolest people to deal with. I love being a part of sales where everybody gets to smile. You're a good man, Aaron. Best wishes for you and your wife and the new upcoming addition to the tribe! :DEnjoy the drum for many years to come...John

As I mentioned earlier...I pulled the trigger just because it was your drum (at a good price) and I knew it was going to be top notch. I have received the drum and it is indeed a top notch drum! We are definitely all smiling. You are a gentleman and scholar, Amigo. The big shout out goes to you!

Best,

Aaron

I know exactly what you're saying, Justin. John is the "jefe" when it comes to vintage drums! I played my first gig with the Super 400 in Vegas over the weekend and it sounded fantastic paired up with my '58 Ludwig trans badge kit!
