Ya I used contact paper once and,,, (hope you guys can see the humor in this) it was hard to get off.

But seriously, no I dont work with cloth to well. But I bet someone on here can help you out. Did you try youtube, seems like everything is on there. I learned how to make gravy for Thanks Giving this year. Good luck, hope you got a smile from this.

There is an actual upholstery place just up the street from me and will try and get a quote from them.. I don't think i'll be trying it out myself, as i'm afraid i'd destroy the seat completely..

Here's what I do to my thrones when they need extra cushioning:

Go to your local craft store (such as Hobby Lobby) and get a 2" thick piece of square foam, usually 14" x 14" will do. Trace the top of the throne on the foam and cut the foam with sharp scissors so that the foam is now the same size as your throne top.

Then pick up one of these:

It fits over your throne top, and has a drawstring to secure it. Place the foam inside the fleece cover, then place the fleece cover on your throne top and tighten it up with the drawstring. The foam stays in place nice and tight, and is much more comfortable. Also, the fleece cover is removable, so it can be washed.

This works very well for me. The fleece cover also comes in a 15" size too. The link is for the 12" model. Be sure to choose the right one for your throne top. 2" thick foam usually works for me, but you can experiment with more or less thickness to suit your needs. This is cheap and easy fix that really works well, and looks good too! If you decide you want to change to more or less cushion, or if the foam gets wet or compresses over time, no problem! Just buy new foam, wash the cover and you're good to go!

P.S.-Excellent Zinger, Jeff. I think I am going to take one of my cheap snares, wrap it in ugly contact paper, and then take a picture of it. Every once in a while, I'll just reply back to a thread with only that picture and without saying anything else. Those "in the know" will hopefully laugh each time.

Actually I was once given a drum throne wrapped in Christmas paper... crazy hey??

I had it done by the automotive upholstery place up the street from me.

I had some leftover pistachio sparkle barstool vinyl from recovering my CB700/Maxwin kit, and my throne had a couple of holes in its vinyl, so I took the guys the seat and enough of the vinyl to recover it. They quoted $30 and billed $20.

This was using supplied vinyl and using the same foam that was originally in the seat, so it might have been more if either of those had been supplied by them. For an upholstery shop, it's such a small item that I find it hard to imagine that they wouldn't pull the foam and the vinyl from a remnants or scrap bin.

So for a while, I had a drum kit and throne that matched. It was pretty cool. Now my throne is a fun reminder of my first drum kit and the rehab work I did on it.
