Thanks for all the suggestions, everyone. I always take heads off when messing with them, so the wrap will be safe. I was surprised the nail polish and rubbing alcohol didn't work but will get some straight acetone this weekend and see what happens.
On a side note, I would hardly mind the Remo logo if it was MUCH smaller and not a huge, oversized advertisement, and also if it had a hipper design.
Light sanding and acetone is the only way to get the Remo logos off. White primer paint for plastic in several light coats and will fine.

I'm trying to remove this large, unsightly Remo logo from my bass drum head, but the usual nail polish remover/ rubbing alcohol trick has not worked. Any suggestions?
Use GooGone spray. Available at Lowes or Home Depot. A couple of sprays, wait a few seconds and wipe off wth a paper towel. Not as harsh or as dangerous to you as acetone is. The whole process will take less than a minute. If everything doesn't come off the first time, do again. Very inexpensive, very quick, and very safe. I wiped with a damp cloth afterwards to make sure there was no residue, and let it dry for a few hours, and then applied my vintage Ludwig logo
I once used Goof Off to remove the logo from my powerstroke 3 coated reso head and it came right off with no problem.. Wiped clean as though it never existed..
Yep, Goof-Off or its competitor GooGone, is the best and fastest way to go. I'm surprised so many here are suggesting using acetone which is somewhat dangerous, or painting or sanding.
Acetone, or even regular nail polish remover, will work on smooth Remo heads no problem. If coated, then that's when you need 100% acetone, and even that doesn't work completely. Don't try acetone on coated Evans heads, though...it'll take the coating off, too! I have successfully removed Aquarian logos on the vintage heads with 100% acetone. Good luck!
Most of us use Remo heads.... If Remo took the initiative to invert the logo so as it would be positioned at the lower edge of the head... (As per EVANS) ... Am sure it would not be an Issue... most of us would be content to add our drum brand logo's at the top....

Page one. Great thread and thanks to all that have chimed in !! So have same issue and went to task. Goof-Off is a stronger product than GooGone. Regret had neither Goof-Off or a brand new Remo coated head. Proceeded with testing anyway.
GooGone would take first layers of the head logo off but died when got into the coating. Didn't faze the Remo logo on a clear top head white underside.
If Goof off not working than sand most of the logo off before acetone. Very fine grit.
Acetone will stripe most coatings and I just rubbed in a sloppy fashion (no pre-sand it's a used TKO ...) I used paper towels and flipped as soon as any black showed. Clear top/white undercoat Remo head logo gone in three wipes.
Only issue I see on a reso bass head is if you are wanting to have interior lights in the base the logo removal will show. Two of the pics are the bass head on a craft grade light table.
Easier to answer questions than type a novel. Take your time getting the logo off, oops already a novel :-).
For a nice white reso head finished product. I would start with a thin clear head get the logo off wet 800 grit sand and paint.
